Supporting Yourself During Difficult Times

The tone of this episode of Being Well is a bit different. For context, Dr. Rick Hanson and I are recording four days after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine, and we hope that as many people involved in this conflict as possible are able to stay safe.

Like many people, we wish there was more we could do. As a small offering, we spend the episode focusing on what we can do in our minds and our lives to relate to the challenging emotions of fear, grief, anxiety, helplessness, and rage that come up around these kinds of tragic events, and explore some degree of how to stay engaged without becoming overwhelmed. We’ve also included links below to several charities where you can make a donation to support Ukraine.
